Brow Waxing 101

A few years ago it was pretty much the norm to pop into your local beautician or nail salon to do a quick brow clean up.

Since the boom of the big, bold brow, grooming, shaping, and maintaining eyebrows has become more of an art form, and so there’s been a huge rise in the number of brow artists and specialists – professionals trained to give you the best brows of your life.

So if you’ve decided it’s time to take the leap and visit us at The Secret Brow Society for either HD Brows, a Tint & Shape or a brow wax (good decision, by the way), there are a few things you need to know before your first appointment

Grow Before You Go

Let's get started.

Put down the tweezers for at least 4 weeks before your appointment.

Voice Your Vision

What type are you?

Are you feeling the big, bold brows right now? Or are you more the natural-brow girl?

Know The Facts, Then Wax

Good to know.

It is important to let us know if you are on any medication like roaccutane, have a skin condition or just generally have sensitive skin.

So What's Next?

Very important

– Avoid using makeup and facial cleansers around the brow area for the following 24 hours.

– Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for 24 hours.

– Avoid exfoliating and using anti-ageing products around the brow area for three days either side of the treatment.

– Avoid using any self-tanning products on the face for around two-three days either side of the treatment. If you do wish to use a tanning product on your face, apply a barrier to the hair and just around the brow prior to tanning to prevent discolouration of your tint.

– Avoid the temptation to over touch the brow area after a treatment. Touching can add oils in to the area (from your fingers/hands) and could clog the open pores, resulting in spots.

– Inform your us immediately should you experience any swelling, itchy rashes, bruising, skin grazing or cuts after your treatment so we can advise you on the correct procedure to follow. If you have any questions or concerns, be honest.
